The other day, I watched a documentary about the Ganges and all the symbolism of cremating and scattering your loved ones' ashes to the river. It made me think about how diverse we are in the way we look at death and the ceremonies we do for our loved ones. I never realized how much symbolism it had and the importance of flowers and letting the water cleanse and take the body to a better place. Looking at it more romantically, it was like letting your loved ones go in peace and having the time to let them go and see them go away. It gives you time to reflect, thank and honor the life of the one going to a better place. One of my dreams is to l learn more about this culture and understand their rituals and way of looking at life.
